Today, I was browsing around a local store. I saw this pool cleaner, called the Polaris Vac-Sweep 280. I didn’t know much about it, so I figure I’d do a review of the product, especially it being so popular online. You can also see more of my pool cleaner reviews as they come along.
Polaris Vac-Sweep 280 Impressions
At first glance, this in-ground pool cleaner looks like a stubby train car over bag on top. What’s unique about this pool cleaner is that it has three wheels. Now the reason why it has three wheels is because it makes it easier for the Polaris Vac-Sweep 280 to go around corners and crevices.
The Polaris Vac-Sweep 280 can clean any size pool automatically, which is almost a requirement for large-size swimming pools.
It has a double jet system that helps provide greater vacuum power and that’s cleaning. You can think of as your city’s street sweeper. It basically helps suites and socks and large debris like leaves, pine needles, and other small particles off the floor of the pool.
The Polaris Vac-Sweep 280 has two hoses; one is to add suction power to the actual pool cleaner itself which will require a separate booster pump. And the other hose is to tell it provides outflow from the pump with a filter attached on the end.
Negatives
To be honest, there’s nothing wrong with the pool cleaner itself. The only problem that I have with it is the fact you have to purchase a separate booster pump. You can think of it as a vacuum cleaner without the motor for suction power.
Conclusion
I will have to give the Polaris Vac-Sweep 280 4 1/2 stars. I would give it five stars if it wasn’t for the fact you have to purchase a separate booster, which cost around $150-$200 depending on the model. For the most part, it does the job, and a lot of others agree. You can find out more information below.
